Two deadlines: January 8 and 10, 2021

BIE Virtual Gathering invitation and Call for Papers "Culture and Genders"

Dear colleagues,
While this frightful year 2020 comes to an end there are, nevertheless, signs that our collaboration will not seriously suffer because of the pandemic. Indeed, it should be taken up at full strength and again with personal encounters once COVID-19 will be gone, hopefully in Summer or Fall 2021 (when I definitely want to place the responsibility for our Network into new hands). In the meantime other exchange formats must do, as can be seen in the below calls from two members, Ana Villaroya and Raphaela Henze.
With best wishes for the turn of the year - and play it safe!
Andreas Joh. Wiesand
(Secretary General)

Call for papers for the issue “Culture and Genders” (Revista Debats. Revista de cultura, poder i societat)

The aim of this monograph is to present empirical and theoretical research that can help raise awareness of gender inequalities in the cultural sector, as well as studies that explore fairer and more culturally diverse forms of action. Studies in the fields of political science, sociology, economics, cultural management, and also other disciplines such as anthropology, cultural studies, history, education, museology, and communication will be considered. Work that takes an interdisciplinary and international approach to examine the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on the world of culturea gender perspective is especially welcome.

The monograph is coordinated by Marta Casals (University of Barcelona) and Anna Villarroya (University of Barcelona) and the deadline for receiving abstracts is January 10, 2021.
